DESCRIPTION
THE JOB
As a Full Circle Doula, you will provide gentle guidance and a grounding presence in the weeks and months following birth, advising the family in lactation, nutrition, sleep coaching, and child safety while offering in-home support and quiet overnight care.
This is a tender time for families, and it’s important to be sensitive to their needs, while remaining regulated and boundaried, planning ahead and executing tasks to completion with a standard of excellence. Full Circle Doulas are reliable, passionate, life-long learners committed to improving their craft, and communicate with clear, direct kindness. THE HIRING PROCESS
Please thoroughly review the Requirements and Responsibilities below. If you are interested in becoming a Full Circle Doula, use our scheduler to select your desired interview date and time.
Once you’ve set your interview, you’ll be asked to provide your resume, personal references, and confirm you’re certified with over 5 years of postpartum doula experience. We also ask that you tell us a little about yourself! Please note that this is NOT a cover letter requirement. We’re simply curious, and would love to learn more about you ahead of your interview.
REQUIREMENTS
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
✦ Postpartum doula certification from a recognized training program or organization
✦ Minimum 5 years experience as a postpartum doula with practical foundation in newborn and infant care
✦ Current professional liability insurance
✦ Must be vaccinated against COVID-19, DTaP, Hepatitis A & B, MMR
✦ Current CPR certification, first aid certification, and food handlers permit
✦ Able to shop for groceries & cook nutritious food for the whole family
✦ Able to work a minimum of 5 hour day visits and a minimum of 10 hours overnight visits
✦ Strong verbal & written communication skills and emotional attunement
✦ Good team member with ample experience working on a multi-person team, flexible and cooperative
✦ You’re a forward-thinking self-starter capable of planning ahead and gently setting boundaries
✦ You’re confident and comfortable working with people from every background
✦ You possess a can-do attitude, remain curious & attentive, and are capable of asking all the right questions
✦ You maintain an active, healthy lifestyle and can comfortably lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
✦ You’re covid and communicable disease cautions and follow safe health practices
RESPONSIBILITIES
WHAT TO EXPECT
Once a client has signed on and determined their timeline of care, we’ll reach out to confirm your availability for the duration of the engagement. When you’re on-board, we’ll set up an in-person meet-and-greet, provide your contact information, and schedule an appointment for car-seat installation. We’ll be in-touch and available with calm expertise and warm excitement leading up to delivery.
When baby arrives, we get to work providing daily overnight care, including:

✦ Lactation and feeding guidance

✦ Transitional support
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
✦ Timely arrival & departure
✦ Come in full-throttle, low-drama
✦ Networking & sharing resources with the full circle team
✦ Mature de-escalation of emotional situations
✦ Deliver clear instructions and provide regular check-ins with both the family and the Full Circle team
✦ Care for postpartum parents, infants, and siblings by providing informational, emotional, and physical support including cooking, light housework, play, etc.
✦ Teach newborn skills to families, including diapering, swaddling, baby-wearing, safe sleep habits, bathing, umbilical cord care, etc.
✦ Provide non-judgmental feeding support including body/bottle feeding
COMPENSATION
SALARY
$25-45 per Hour Compensation commensurate with training, education, and experience
